RAPE

Rape is a type of sexual assault usually involving sexual intercourses or other forms of sexual penetration carried out against a person without their consent.

Rape in India

Rape is the fourth most common crime against women in India.

1.     India has been characterized as one of the “countries with the lowest precipitate rates of rape.

2.      The willingness to report the rape has increased in recent years.

India has many sexual violence problem listed below:                                                                                                                          

1.     The case of   23-years old medical student who died after a brutal gang rape on a bus in New Delhi has seemed to snap India to attention about its endemic sexual violence problem.

2.     Hundreds of  Indian poured into the streets of New Delhi to mourn the young woman, and the police announced that the six men arrested in connection with the attack had been charged with murder.

3.     In recent years, New Delhi has earned the title of  “rape capital” With more than 560 cases of rape reported in the city.

4.      A 22-year-old Sikkim woman was gang rape in a moving a car in Gurgaon and was later thrown out of the car.

  

5.      A 20 –years old women were gang-raped and killed in Haryana's Rohtak allegedly by her jilted lover and a friend.  (may 15,2017) the man later smashed her face with a brick and killed her.

6.      A 10-year-old girl was found pregnant after being repeatedly raped by her stepfather in Haryana. (May 13, 2017)

7.      A 45-year-old school owner was arrested for sexually exploiting his own daughter for the last 7 years in Ghaziabad. (May 11,2017)

Acceptance of domestic violence:

The   ”Reuters Trust law ”  group named India one of the “worst countries in the world for women being more cultured and traditions.

A 2012 report   by UNICEF found that 57 %  of  Indian boys   and   53%   of girls between the age of 15 and 19 think wife-beating is justified.

A lack of public safety:

Women generally aren’t protected outside their homes.

The gang rape occurred on a bus and even Indian authorities say that the countries public places can be unsafe for women.

A women and child Development Ministry report said recently Encouraging Rape victims to compromise:

Rape victims are after encouraged by village elders and clan councils to “compromise” with the family of accused and drop charges or even to marry the attacker.

Such compromises are dimmed at keeping the peace between families or clan groups.

A sluggish court system:

           Indies the court system is painfully slow, in part because of the shortage of judges. The country has about 15 judges for every 1 million people. While China has 159.

A Delhi high court judge once estimated it would take 466 years to get through the bade log in the capital alone.

Reasons why India has a sexual violence problem:

1.     Perhaps the biggest issue, though, its women’s overall lower status in Indian society for poor families, the need to pay a marriage dowry can make daughters a burden. India has one of the lowest females to male population ratios in the world because of sex-selective abortion ratios infanticide. Throughout their life sons are fed better than their sisters. This is the reason why all the boys are encouraged from childhood which leads to a big problem in the future.

2.     when a boy grows up seeing his father assaults his mother he starts to accept such a behavior and repeats it.

Rape cases could be controlled in India:

1.     Parents should teach their boys to respect girls from their childhood.

2.     Parents should make their girls learn about good touch and bad touch.

3.     Every parent makes their child to self-defense themselves at the time when someone is molesting them by mocking a whistle or spraying a child spray on the eyes of the molester.

4.     Sports encounter to be done by the police, to the rapist leaving a fear on the people.

5.     Rape culture exists because we don’t believe it “does”. If we follow the above points properly we would have Indian to be a Rape free country.

6.     Stronger and swifter justice from our Indian judiciary.
